Hi @KK1119,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're encountering a white screen before login, particularly when starting up your computer, it may indicate an issue with the operating system, drivers, or possibly corrupted system files. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and possibly resolve the problem:

Safe Mode: Try booting your computer in Safe Mode. Safe Mode loads Windows with a minimal set of drivers and can help you identify if the issue is caused by software or drivers.

  • For Windows, restart your computer and repeatedly press the F8 key before the Windows logo appears. Choose "Safe Mode" from the menu.
  • For macOS, immediately after your Mac starts (you hear a startup sound or see the Apple logo), press and hold the Shift key. Release the Shift key when you see the login window.

Check for Display Issues: Make sure the issue isn't with your monitor or display settings. If you have another monitor, try connecting it to your computer to see if the issue persists.

Update or Roll Back Drivers: If you recently updated your graphics card drivers, consider rolling them back to a previous version. If you haven't updated your drivers in a while, check for updates. Driver issues can sometimes cause display problems.

System Restore: If you can access Safe Mode, you might attempt a System Restore to a point before the issue started occurring. System Restore can revert system files and settings back to a previous state without affecting personal files.

Check for Corrupted System Files:

  • For Windows, open Command Prompt as an administrator and type sfc /scannow to scan for and restore corrupted system files.
  • For macOS, you can use Disk Utility's First Aid feature to check and repair disk errors that might be causing the issue.

Clean Boot: Performing a clean boot for Windows can help you identify if third-party software is causing the issue. This starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
