HP Notebook 14s
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Recently I noticed a single white spot on the bottom left side of my screen. I contacted HP customer support, and while on call, the agent guided me to the BIOS screen. Even on the BIOS screen the white spot was visible. She then assured me that a technician will visit my place to look into the matter and fix the issue. I had to send a snapshot of the spot as well as the BIOS screen via email to HP.

My notebook is well within warranty and it expires only in November this year. Now, based on just the image/ snapshot shared by me, HP has straightaway deduced that the spot is a result of ‘Induced Damage’ and the ‘standard warranty does not cover it’.

Please help me understand:

a. How did I get a white spot on my screen because there was absolutely no accident/ pressure put on the screen?

b. Whether the same is covered under HP warranty?

Thank you in advance for your time.

I am facing the same issue. A white spot on the left bottom of the screen and it has not even been 2 weeks since I bought the laptop. I did not install/update anything yet.

Have raised a complaint and the HP team is yet to contact me.
