Have purchased a HP laptop 14s-dq0034na about 6 months ago. Now it simply has a flashing white screen on start up and keeps looping. I can see the hard drive light turn on and off. That's it. Dead after less than 6 months. Great. Will this need to be sent in for warranty/replacement? Any help appreciated.

That sounds frustrating, especially since the laptop is fairly new. A flashing white screen on startup could indicate a display issue, corrupted boot files, or a hardware failure.
Here are some steps to troubleshoot:
1. Perform a Hard Reset
- Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery (if removable).
- Hold the power button for 30 seconds to drain residual power.
- Reconnect the power adapter and try turning it on.
2. Check for Display Issues
- Connect the laptop to an external monitor using HDMI or DisplayPort.
- If the external display works fine, the issue is likely with the laptop’s screen or internal connections.
3. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics
- Restart the laptop and press Esc repeatedly.
- Select F2 > System Tests > Display Test to check for hardware issues.
4. Boot into Safe Mode
- Restart the laptop and press Shift + Restart at the login screen.
- Select Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Settings > Restart.
- Choose Enable Safe Mode and check if the issue persists.

Glad it's working now! The white screen could’ve been a glitch or a software issue. Sometimes pressing random keys like Caps Lock can help reset things. But for now, all good!
