Hi @5CD3374931,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand how concerning it can be to see a white spot on your screen, especially on a new laptop. Here are some steps you can try to identify and possibly fix the issue.
Check for External Damage
- Inspect the screen for any cracks or damage. If there’s physical damage, it might require professional repair.
Reset the Display
- Sometimes a simple display reset can help:
- Press Windows + P and select a different display mode (like "PC screen only" or "Duplicate").
- Then switch back to your original setting.
Update Graphics Drivers
- Outdated drivers can cause display issues:
- Right-click on the Start button and select Device Manager.
- Expand Display adapters, right-click your graphics driver, and choose Update driver.
Check for Software Issues
- Boot your laptop in Safe Mode to see if the white spot persists. If it disappears, a software issue might be the cause.
Use a Screen Test Tool
- Run a screen test tool to determine if the spot is a dead pixel or a software issue. You can find online tests by searching for "dead pixel tester."
Gently Press on the Screen
- If you suspect it’s a stuck pixel (not dead), you can try gently pressing around the spot with a soft cloth. Be very careful with this, as too much pressure can cause more damage.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
