Thanks for reaching out to us on HP Support Forums. 🙂 I came across your post and would like to help.
I understand that you have an HP Notebook - 14-r253tu. I read that the screen brightness can no longer be adjusted using the keyboard. Not worry, I'll do my best to help you.
I would like to know the following information to assist you better:
- When was the last time the screen brightness worked using the keyboard?
- Did any software changes r updates happen on the laptop post which this may have started?
Meanwhile, I did some research and suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the graphics drivers for your laptop. The following steps will help:
- Open the device manager.
- Expand "display adapters". Right click on the drivers in display adapters and select uninstall.
- Close the device manager.
- Please download and install the Intel graphics card drivers from this link.
I sincerely hope this fixes the issue. Keep me posted. All the best! 🙂
