"I recently updated my HP laptop to the latest Windows version, and since then, I’ve been experiencing screen flickering issues. The display randomly dims and flickers, making it difficult to work.

I have tried the following troubleshooting steps:
Updated my graphics drivers (Intel & NVIDIA)
Checked for Windows Display settings issues
Ran HP Support Assistant for diagnostics
Disabled hardware acceleration in browsers

Despite these efforts, the issue persists. Could this be related to a Windows update compatibility problem with HP displays? Has anyone else faced this?

Hey! Screen flickering after a Windows update is a pretty common issue, especially on laptops like HP. It usually comes down to a few things—here are some quick fixes you can try:

  1. Update or Roll Back Display Drivers

    • Press Win + X → Device Manager → Display Adapters

    • Right-click your GPU (Intel, AMD, or NVIDIA) → Update Driver

    • If the issue started after an update, try “Roll Back Driver” instead.

  2. Check for App Conflicts

    • Some apps like Norton AV, iCloud, or IDT Audio can cause flickering. Try disabling them temporarily and see if it stops.

  3. Use Task Manager to Diagnose

    • Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc.

    • If Task Manager also flickers, it’s probably a driver issue. If only other parts of the screen flicker, it could be an app problem.

  4. Try Booting in Safe Mode

    • If it works fine there, the issue is likely software-related and not hardware.

  5. Reset or Reinstall Graphics Drivers

    • You can use DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) in safe mode to fully remove drivers, then reinstall the latest version from HP’s site or directly from Intel/NVIDIA/AMD and its also supportive for dota 2  game https://dota2boosting.com/.
