I'm running off intels i7-10th gen OP on my HP laptop and using Windows 11. My laptop is technically considered outdated but I've only had it for a couple of years. Up until a 3/4 months ago it was doing great. Now when I power it on and login in it starts this erradict flickering and/or blacking out completely. This is most annoying. However when I run an HDMI to a secondary screen it doesn't do it on the second screen (typically just plug it into my smart tv. The laptops screen will either flickering very persistently while this goes on or just black completely out whether or not it's plugged in to the secodnary screen. I have to hurry a pull up device manager and go down to display driver click on it and unisntall. I have done this on the regualr boot up and I've tried it using SAFE MODE. It stops when I do this but if I log out or shut down my laptop it starts doing it all over again and the nightmare goes on and on. I have also turned off the auto updates that are in the properties of the file menu to hopefully prevent it from updating itself because I think that's certainly an issue, so it's set to "no do not auto update". It's not a hardware issue because I've ran the BIOS menu just fine and it doesn't do this to me. I have college courses coming up soon and honestly can't afford a new laptop at this moment. Please help me to find a resolution if there is any. I'd really appreciate the assistance and look forward to hearing from someone...anyone!

I updated my notebook's graphics driver to this version which works fine for me.

 

Intel® 7th-10th Gen Processor Graphics - Windows*

 

After you install the driver and restart the PC, run this utility to prevent other Intel graphics drivers from installing that I zipped up and attached below.

 

The Microsoft Hide Windows Update utility will find any Intel graphics drivers pending to install.

 

Check the box to hide the update.

 

The utility will run again and report that the problem is 'Fixed.

 

Exit out of the utility, restart the PC and you should not be bothered with other Intel graphics drivers from Windows update trying to install.
