HP Rechargable MPP2.0 Tilt Pen

Hello, I need some help.

So I have just got a HP Rechargable MPP2.0 Tilt Pen for my HP Pavilion x360 14--ek1xxx. It works, but just as a replacement for my finger really; I do not even know if i have access to all of its features yet. I cannot pair it for some reason via Bluetooth - I have tried to hold both buttons that are next to eachother several times and could not. I tried to look through the HP website to try to detect the pen via USB - which it did not recognise. Tried entering the serial number, which it did not recognise despite me checking several times.

Can someone tell me what is even going on with this pen? Is it too new or something? Am I doing something wrong???

Hi @meowkurd,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your laptop!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Ensure Compatibility

  1. Confirm Compatibility: Verify that your HP Pavilion x360 14-ek1xxx supports the HP Rechargeable MPP2.0 Tilt Pen. Check the product specifications or user manual to ensure compatibility.

Charge and Reset the Pen

  1. Fully Charge the Pen:
    • Place the pen on the magnetic pen attachment and charger area which should be located over the microphones.
    • Ensure the LED indicator shows the charging status. Blinking amber indicates that the battery is low, static amber indicates it's charging, and off indicates full charge.

Bluetooth Pairing

  1. Pair the Pen via Bluetooth:
    • Turn on the Pen: Press the button to ensure it is powered on.
    • Activate Bluetooth: Go to Windows settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices and ensure Bluetooth is turned on.
    • Pairing Mode: Attempt to trigger the pairing mode correctly by holding down the buttons for the appropriate duration specified in the manual.
    • Manually Search and Pair: If automatic pairing does not work, try to manually pair the device from the Bluetooth settings.

Update Software and Drivers

  1. Update Device Drivers:
    • Visit the HP Drivers and Downloads page to ensure you have the latest drivers and firmware for your HP Pavilion x360.
    • Look specifically for updates related to the pen or Bluetooth functionality.

Utilize HP Apps

  1. Install HP Applications:
    • HP Pen Control: Download and install HP Pen Control or HP Command Center software if available for your model, which allows you to customize button functions and check the pen’s status.
    • HP Support Assistant: Use HP Support Assistant to run diagnostic tests and follow troubleshooting steps.

I hope this helps.
