Solved!

Why is the maximum screen resolution only 1600 x 900

HP Notebook - 17-ca1007ca
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I recently bought a new HP Notebook with Radeon Vega 3 Graphics, and it appears the maximum resolution I can have is 1600 x 900, where as on my old laptop that I bought almost 7 years ago, it could go higher. I'm not using the original 2TB HDD that came with the laptop, but instead I purchased a 1TB SSD and completely reinstalled windows 10. I updated the drivers and everything works fine, so I'm not sure what the issue is. Is there a problem with the driver, or is 1600 x 900 the maximum resolution that can be supported? I'm hoping there is some way to go higher, because I find everything looks too big.

Hello @Hououin_Kyouma1,

Nice username lol; it's a great show.

Anyhow, I did check the specifications here for your model and it does seem like the panel is only 1600 by 900. Sorry about that.

Kind regards,

Eddy

Thanks, and yes it is! 😄

Alright, I figured as much, but I was hoping there would be a way. It's not a big deal, I'll get use to it lol. Thanks for the help!
