Windows 10 update changed screen resolution and eliminated original screen resolution options. Options are now limited to 3 and do not allow 1600x900 max resolution of my display. AMD Radeon 4500 driver is updated but, apparently does not support Windows 10. Is there another driver that I can download for free to replace AMD Radeon 4500? Is there a workaround other than doing a system restore daily or reverting back to Windows 7 Home Premium?

I had the same (or similar) problem for the last couple of days. This was my solution (at least it worked for me).
Open Device Manager, Expand the Display Adapters, Right click on the adapert (a Radeon for me), click Update Driver, click Browse My Computer, click Let me pick from a list of availalble drivers...
I had five drivers listed, 3 had the same date (7/25/2017), the 4th had an older date (1/13/2015), the 5th was a Microsoft Basic Display Adapter.
I used the 4th one (1/13/2015) and it seems to have fixed the problem for me.
Hopefully, it might help you.

The first thing I tried was a driver search using both methods and it couldn’t find any drivers. I have also not had any luck with trying to find drivers manually.

This seems to be affecting a lot of us who are running older computers. I'm running a Pavilion p6267c bought from Costco a number of years ago. It has an ATI Radeon HD 4350 graphics card with 512MB. After poking around on the ATI site I found a list of all their graphics cards and support for Windows 10 (http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/Win10-Driver-Support.aspx). It lists all cards in the 3000 and 4000 series as not being supported for Windows 10. I don't know for how long because my resolution has been fine until Nov 23/17. Something changed that day probably in a Windows 10 update and now I've lost my resolution and am dealing with a new default resolution that's making everything a little wider than long. Looks like the Radeon card isn't even in play and the Windows default Microsoft®Basic Display Driver (MBDD) is calling the shots now.
So, I think the blame is on Microsoft. Could look to upgrade the card but I wonder how compatible any new card will be on a computer that was launched on Sept. 25, 2009.
Sigh. I guess it's fat heads for now.
Here's the list from the ATI site:
This article provides information about Windows® 10 driver support for AMD Radeon™ Graphics products.

AMD Catalyst™ Driver can be downloaded from: www.amd.com/drivers.
Products That Do Not Support Windows® 10
AMD Radeon™ HD 4000 Series products and older are not certified to support Windows Display Driver Model (WDDM) 1.2 or higher and therefore, do not have driver support for Windows® 10.
The following is a list of graphics products that do not support Windows® 10:
- ATI Radeon™ HD 4000 Series /ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 4000 Series Graphics
- ATI Radeon™ HD 3000 Series /ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 3000 Series Graphics
- ATI Radeon™ HD 2000 Series /ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 2000 Series Graphics
- ATI Radeon™ X1### Series/ATI Mobility Radeon™ X1### Series Graphics
- ATI Radeon™ X### Series/ATI Mobility Radeon™ X### Series Graphics
- ATI Radeon™ 9000 Series Graphics

- ATI Radeon™ 7500 Graphics
- ATI Radeon™ DDR Graphics
- ATI Radeon™ 7000 Graphics
- ATI Radeon™ 7000VE Graphics
- ATI Radeon™ 7000LE Graphics
Windows® 10 will install the default Microsoft®Basic Display Driver (MBDD) for these graphics adapters. MBDD provides basic display functionality (low resolutions and color) on a single monitor but DOES NOT support:
- Display scaling control
- Multiple displays
- Display rotation
- Video capture
- Power settings
- VSync control
- Brightness control on integrated display panels
- AMD Catalyst™ Control Center
If your system is equipped with an AMD Radeon™ HD 4000 Series product or older, you may consider the following options:
- Continue using the existing operating system.
- If you have already upgraded to Windows® 10 and would like to revert back to the previous version of Windows, refer to this Microsoft page for instructions.
- Upgrade to an AMD graphics product that provides Windows® 10 support. For information about resellers and product availability, visit: http://shop.amd.com
NOTE: Before upgrading ensure that your system meets the requirements of the graphics adapter, such as:
- Motherboard with compatible graphics card slot
- Adequate power supply unit to handle the complete system power requirements
- Display with compatible connections

@Wade T - Your solution to role back to the earlier driver solved my vexing problem. Thank you!!!
HP Touchsmart 300, Radeon HD 3200, Window 10 Home - Limited and distorted display resolution starting 23-Nov-17, (could have been earlier but this computer is used only a day or two per week).

I'm glad it worked for you. Mine was also wierd because if I went through control panel, device manager, it would show the ATI Radeon (new version) but if I went through right click desktop, display settings, display adapter settings, I thought it was showing a basic Microsoft adapter (maybe I'm imagining things). I also read somewhere that some people started experiencing the issue after a C++ security update - I tried uninstalling it but it didn't help me.
The only thing I found that worked was using the old driver.
Thanks.
Wade.

@Wade T et al - Background info on a Touchsmart 300 w Radeon HD 3200 not displaying the higher res, in this case 1600x900:
With the low res problem,
Listed under the ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics, Driver: AMD 7/25/17 ver 22.19.128.0, Driver details: No driver files are required or have been loaded
Monitor: Generic Non-PnP Monior
With the roll back to the driver that fixed the low res problem,
Listed under the ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics, Driver: AMD 1/13/15 ver 8.970.100.9001, Driver details: ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics (composed of 63 files)
Monitor: Generic PnP Monitor, Driver: Microsoft 6/21/06, ver 10.0.14393.0
Lots of other people reported similar low res problems on 23-Nov-17. Apparently we were not all that special. I think you have helped a many. 🙂

Thanks WadeT! I chatted online with Microsoft today (11/26/17) and their solution was to pay for support or email me some free options. I opted for the free options which were worth what I paid for them. I found the solution that worked, here, by way of google. I have an HP laptop DV7 and I hadn't turned it on for a week. After booting it up and using it for about a half hour, I heard a weird chime and my resolution changed. When I used WadeT's solution I heard the same chime when the old driver was reinstalled by Windows. Btw, let Windows tell you when it's done updating the driver. Don't panic. The screen will go dark several times and change a few windows before it stops and tells you it's completed the update.

Wade T,
You are the TOPS!! Your solution worked for this just turned 68 (11/22/1949) old dog. I thank you SO MUCH!! I spent hours searching online (Youtube, etc.), contacting Microsoft (still NO RESPONSE), AMD (no response!) and HP (no response!), to no avail. But your solution worked perfectly for me. I hope it lasts for a long time. I strongly recommend that you share this via Youtube. You deserve the recognition & praise.
I work in personal finance. As a way of expressing my appreciation for your help, I would like to share what I know with you for free so that, when you reach my age, you will be financially independent. Please feel free to contact me at abkennett@gmail.com or 914-563-+4740 (Cell/Text).
