Hi, I have been looking for a solution to get my HP IR Camera working in Window Hello again but when I followed hP's troubleshooting steps to remove the IR Camera in my DEvice manager and go to the HP web site nothing works anymore, there are no drivers there is nothing I need a direction to go as I'm getting very frustrated with my system which works perfectly in the windows 11 environment yet I cant update drivers as it seems that hp has decided not to continue any support.

@amoskowitz, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your Windows Hello that stopped working after an upgrade!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
It looks like the HP IR Camera on your HP Envy 15-bp100 x360 Convertible is officially supported only on Windows 10. You can check the compatibility and available drivers directly on the HP support page here. Since Windows 11 isn’t officially supported for this model, HP hasn’t released updated drivers for the IR Camera in the Windows 11 environment.
Here's what you can try:
Roll Back the Driver:
- Open Device Manager → Expand Imaging Devices → Right-click on IR Camera → Select Properties → Go to Driver tab → Click Roll Back Driver (if available).
Compatibility Mode:
- If the rollback option is not available, try installing the Windows 10 driver in compatibility mode:
- Download the Windows 10 driver from the HP support page.
- Right-click the installer → Select Properties → Go to the Compatibility tab → Check Run this program in compatibility mode for: → Select Windows 10 → Apply → OK → Install.
Reinstall the Driver Manually:
- Open Device Manager → Right-click on IR Camera → Select Uninstall Device → Restart your PC → Windows should attempt to reinstall the driver automatically.
A couple of quick questions to help narrow down the issue:
After the Windows 11 update, do you see the IR Camera listed under Device Manager at all, or is it missing entirely?
\Did you try creating a new Windows Hello profile after updating to Windows 11, or is it failing to detect your face altogether?
Let me know how it goes! We'll figure this out together. 😊
Take care, and have an amazing day!
