HP Spectre x360
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Graphics card Intel HD 520, latest drivers.

Display Settings and Intel Graphics Settings both show 1920x1080 but http://www.whatismyscreenresolution.com/ shows 1280x720

I tried uninstalling the driver, reinstalling it, rebooting in between. I attempted switching resolutions back and forth, but I am still stuck with 720 resolution, while for some odd reason Windows thinks I am on 1080.

Any ideas?

I don't know what video drivers you installed, so all I can suggest is installing the ones from your HP Product Page:  http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Spectre-13-4100-x360-Convertible-PC/8499273/model...

Could also be that the other page you're using is incorrect -- but I tried that myself, and it did show the correct resolution.

Good Luck

Hello;

Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!

I read your post about resolution problems and wanted to help -- but need more information.

Without your detailed product number, I can not confirm whether or not HP has Win10 drivers for your PC, so please follow the directions in this link to find the detailed product number of your PC: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824?jumpid=reg_r1002_usen_c-001_title_r0001

If that is not possible, then look for a sticker on the PC that includes the product number and post that here.  If the battery is removable, the sticker is likely to be in the battery compartment.

We can proceed once you provide the information.

Thanks

Hi WAWoof,

Thanks!

Product# N5R96UA#ABL

I've tried playing around with it, uninstalling / updating the driver and the resolution went up to 1536 x 864 based on: http://www.whatismyscreenresolution.com/

Windows Display Settings AND Intel HD Graphics Control Panel - both still think that I am at 1920x1080... really strange.

That worked thanks!

I didn't realize that there's a different driver for the same video card per laptop's model. 🙂

I was just googling Intel HD 520. And I guess Windows 10 installed the wrong driver, that's why the resolution was messed up.

Thanks again!
