Good evening, I hope someone can help me because the problem I’m experiencing is quite annoying.
I just bought a Hp z3700 wireless mouse, convinced that there could be no better solution to adopt, my notebook being just an Hp. As soon as I inserted the usb adapter I immediately noticed that, at more or less regular intervals, the mouse pointer was moving: whether I was using the mouse, interfering with the use (I’m going to click in one point and I find the pointer in another)whether I was standing absolutely still. I also noticed that the pointer usually goes into the left corners of the desktop. I then tried to unplug the usb adapter, to see if the same happens, despite the fact that until now I had never encountered this problem, and in fact everything goes back to normal. At this point I wonder: does the adapter interfere with the touchpad? How do I solve this problem? I can’t find the touchpad deactivation option.

I thank you and hope I have been clear.

@Giulia93

I reviewed your post and I understand you are facing issues with the external mouse.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

I recommend you disable the touchpad when an external mouse is connected and check if it helps.

Here is how it is done.

Open up Windows Settings by clicking the “Start” button, then clicking on the cog wheel. You can also hit Windows+I. Next, click the “Devices” option. On the Devices page, switch to the “Touchpad” category on the left and then disable the “Leave Touchpad on When Mouse is Connected” option.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

P.S: Welcome to the HP Support Community 😊
