HP Envy x2 PC 11-g000ea
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (32-bit)

Hello, I have a weird problem, my transformer tablet Envy x2 won’t send the image to an external monitor. I tried different cables (HDMI/DVI/VGA) and adapters to no avail. When I insert the cable into the HDMI port the tablet clinks and eventually it is possible to see a second monitor in the devices list. However, the monitor says there is no signal.

It does not seem that the HDMI socket has been overused and broken. And the cables are good too. It seems like it is a software problem. But I cannot solve it. I tried to update drivers, Windows says they are up-to-date and okay. The system has been reinstalled a week ago, actually.

How can I still connect to the external screen?

@Stirlitz,

Thank you for posting your query on HP Community,

Let's try these steps here:

Start off by uninstalling the display drivers from device manager:

Use shortcut keys Win + X on Windows 10

Select Device Manager.

Expand the entry. Right-click the problematic device and select Uninstall device.

You may need to check the option Delete the driver software for this device, and then click the Uninstall button.

I would suggest here is to update the Bios, Chipset and graphics card drivers on your PC either using HP support website, using this link or download it using HP Support Assistant.

To download and install HP support assistant on your PC. It should automatically download and install the latest updates and drivers for your PC.

Refer this link to know how to use HP support assistant.

Let me know how it goes for further assistance!

That said, If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the Accepted Solution and Kudos buttons, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Have a great day!
