ENVY TouchSmart 17-j178nr
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

This laptop is an Envy TouchSmart 17-j178nr. It comes with a display 17.3-inch diagonal HD+ BrightView WLED-backlit touchscreen display (1600 x 900).

I have a bricked ENVY 17-j100 series in like brand new condition. It has a 1920x1080 touchscreen display.

Can I swap display to upgrade the 17-j178nr???

Please let me know.

Unfortunately, the short answer is no.

Take a close look at the connectors for each display and you will notice that they are not the same.
