Hi @Varshi1,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
I understand that you are having issues with the display.
This could be a hardware issue with the display.
The yellowish marks on the edges of your HP Victus 15.6 Inch Gaming Laptop screen, especially when they become more visible upon pressing, might indicate issues such as:
- Pressure Marks: These can occur if the screen has been subjected to pressure or stress.
- Backlight Bleeding: Uneven distribution of the screen's backlight, which can be more noticeable on a white background.
- LCD Damage: Physical damage to the LCD panel, which can cause discoloration.
Troubleshooting and Solutions
Step 1: Check for Physical Damage
- Inspect the Screen: Look for any visible signs of damage or cracks on the screen and its edges.
- Avoid Applying Pressure: Refrain from pressing the edges or screen to prevent further damage.
Step 2: Adjust Display Settings
- Brightness: Lower the screen brightness to see if the yellowish marks become less noticeable.
- Display Settings:
- Right-click on the desktop and select "Display settings".
- Check if adjusting the resolution or other display settings makes any difference.
Step 3: Update Graphics Drivers
- Device Manager:
- Press Win + X and select "Device Manager".
- Expand "Display adapters".
- Right-click on your graphics card and select "Update driver".
- HP Support: Download and install the latest graphics drivers from the HP Support website.
Perform a Screen Test
- HP Hardware Diagnostics: Run the built-in diagnostics to check for display issues.
- Restart your laptop and press F2 repeatedly to enter the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
- Run the display test to see if any issues are detected.
Step 5: External Monitor Test
- Connect to External Monitor: Connect your laptop to an external monitor using an HDMI cable.
- Check Display: Observe if the yellowish marks appear on the external monitor. If they don’t, the issue is likely with the laptop screen.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, the screen may have hardware problems that require repair or replacement.
I would request you to reach out to our phone support and the support team can check the out-of-warranty service options.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
