I have a victus 16 and it is very yellow display is abnormal like nothing i have seen.  I updated the color profile but it is not right.  Research says that there is no proper color icc file to make the display 100% accurate, how could this be?

Hi @vicvictus

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for sharing that—it’s genuinely frustrating to invest in a powerful machine like the Victus 16 and be met with a display that feels off, especially when the yellow tint disrupts everything from browsing to gaming.

You deserve a vibrant, balanced screen that reflects the quality of the hardware, and I want to help you get closer to that.

Here’s a breakdown of what’s likely happening and how you can improve the situation:

Why the Display Looks Yellow

Panel Calibration Limitations

  • Some Victus 16 models ship with budget-oriented panels that lack factory calibration.
  • Without a tailored ICC profile, colors—especially whites—can skew warm or yellowish.

Missing or Generic ICC Profiles

  • HP may not provide a dedicated ICC file for every panel variant, especially if the display is sourced from multiple suppliers.
  • Generic profiles often fail to correct color temperature accurately.

Windows Color Management Conflicts

  • If multiple profiles are installed or applied incorrectly, it can cause color distortion.
  • Some apps may ignore ICC settings entirely, adding to the inconsistency.

Steps to Improve Color Accuracy

Reset Color Management

  • Go to Control PanelColor ManagementDevices tab.
  • Select your display → Check “Use my settings for this device.”
  • Remove any custom profiles and restart.

Install HP Display Driver

  • Visit the HP Software and Driver Downloads page.
  • Download the latest graphics driver and monitor INF file if available.
  • This ensures Windows recognizes the panel correctly.

Use Windows HDR Calibration (if supported)

  • Download Windows HDR Calibration from the Microsoft Store.
  • Even if HDR isn’t enabled, it can help normalize brightness and contrast.

Adjust Through AMD Radeon Settings

  • Open AMD Radeon Software → Go to Display → Adjust Color Temperature and Custom Color settings.
  • Set color temperature closer to 6500K for neutral whites.

Let me know how the display feels after trying these steps. If it’s still off, I’ll help you explore deeper calibration options or community-sourced ICC profiles that might bring your screen to life.
