Can ZBook 17 G2 (Win 8.1) be used with 2560 x 1440 WQHD external monitor connected via mini display port and show 2560 x 1440 resolution picture?

Per the marketing specs in the document at the link in the line below this one, "DP display with miniDP connector may be attached directly to TB (Thunderbolt) port". You will need a thunderbolt port to miniDP cable.

If you do that, there should be no issue with the high resolution output.

"DisplayPort w/MST(Multi-stream Transport)Supports resolutions up to Supports resolutions up to QFHD 3840 x 2160, 24/30-bit color depth at 60 Hz, and WUXGA (1920 x 1200) monitors, 24/30-bit color depth at 120 Hz"

Thank you, now I see I was not clear enough and not completely informed about port types.

Here is my situation:

At the moment I am using 1920x1080 external monitor DELL P2417H which I can connect to Zbook G2 via display port to display port cable or mini displayport to displayport cable (where I plug the mini display port cable in workstation Thunderbolt port).

I would like to see more image details so I plan to upgrade to DELL P2418D monitor with

2560x1440 resolution. I started to wonder if the image from the workstation will be shown in 2560x1440 when I tried to connect the workstation to my 4k LG TV via HDMI cable and HDMI to mini displayport adapter and I could not set TV resolution to more than 1920x1080. So I fear I may have the same problem with an external monitor. I also read that sometimes the NVIDIA card, like the one in the workstation, supports a resolution but it may not be visible in NVIDIA control panel and must be added manually.

I was hoping for that someone already had the experience of plugging a 2560x1440 monitor into Zbook G2 and seeing it deliver this resolution successfully.

Thanks in advance!
