HP zBook 15 G5 2ZC64EA#ABD
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello HP, hello community,

i am from Germany and i have a strange behavior with my brand new ZBook G5 (Intel XEON, Ultra-HD, Windows 10 64bit...).

It is automatically clicking on things. First of all i thought the touchpad is so sensitive and i am touching and clicking it by entering something on the keyboard. But no - it is clicking on things by itself.

See for yourself: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1-9I0fP2ShIHWokOgLboiNxn9AZLQrX-Q

I tried everything to get sure, that this is no software-problem. Reinstalled Windows, changed my mouse, deactivated the touchpad... everything

But it is still clicking and clicking and clicking. It is so worse, because you are typing an email and it clicks and then your cursor skips to the mouse-position - your "type-flow" is gone then!

Does anyone has an idea or solution?

What to do right now? The ZBook is brand new and still under guarantee.

I'm having the same problem with multiple zbooks where I work.

After tinkering with the problem for some time I found out that the Pointer stick (in the middle of the keyboard) is also able to click with a light tap.
With a few more tests I disabled the click ability of the Pointer stick and until now I didn't have any problems.

So as a workaround (or solution): install "Alps Touchpad Settings Manager" that is available in the Alps touchpad driver and switch the "Enable Tap" to Off.

Hope this helps for you.
