Pavilion laptop 15-cc123cl
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My battery icon keeps disappearing when I turn on the laptop.  I go to "device manager", select the "batteries", then the Microsoft AC Adapter, right click on "disable device" and then "enable device".  Did the same for Microsoflt ACPI - Compliant Control Method Battery.   Disable and enable device. The battery icon come back on and stays on  but when I turn off the laptop and turn it back on, the battery icon disappears. This does not happen everytime but recently it has.   I repeat the same procedure and the icon is back.

Why is it doing this and what I can do to stop this.

Thanks,

ED

- Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
- Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second.
- When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
- On the main menu, click Component Tests and Power > Battery

Keep me posted how it goes 😊

Thank you for the info.  I have not uninstall "Microsoft ACPA Compliant Control Method Battery" because step 6 states to remove the battery.  I can not remove the battery of this laptop easily.  The battery is inside the laptop.  Will need to remove screws.  Not sure if that is what you are suggesting.  Should I do the "uninstall" and skip the battery removal?

Thank you,

ED

You can skip the part of reseating the Battery and just uninstall the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery and reboot the Notebook. Ensure you check for the BIOS update

I uninstalled the "Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery" and reboot the laptop.  It reboot perfectly with the battery icon back.  I went into the Device Manager, Batteries to check if the "Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery" is there.  It is there.  Turn off the laptop and turn on the laptop the next day and the battery icon is present.  It is fixed.

Thank you very much,

ED
