hi ii recently did a bios update on my notebook and now all the text on my desired display (1920*1080) is unreadable. I need to rollback the bios to fix this issue. HP have locked the ability to do this, making my notebook useless in it current configuration. Please help me to rollback my bios so i can use my notebook in the resolution i purchased it for instead of this crappy resolution i am using just to read text

Hi @Deaks007,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you recently updated the BIOS on your HP ENVY Notebook and it has caused issues with the display resolution, you may want to consider rolling back the BIOS update to a previous version. Here are the steps you can follow to rollback the BIOS update.
- Restart your HP ENVY Notebook and press the appropriate key to enter the BIOS setup. This key may vary depending on your specific model but is commonly one of the function keys (F1, F2, F10, etc.), Delete key, or Esc key. Look for an on-screen message or consult your device's manual for the exact key.
- Once you are in the BIOS setup, navigate to the "Advanced" or "System Configuration" section using the arrow keys on your keyboard.
- Look for an option called "BIOS Update" or "UEFI Firmware Update" and select it.
- Depending on your BIOS version, you may find an option to "Rollback BIOS" or "Restore Previous BIOS" within the BIOS Update menu. If this option is available, select it.
- If the rollback option is not available in the BIOS setup, you will need to visit the HP support website and download the previous version of the BIOS for your specific model. Make sure to select the correct operating system.
- Once you have downloaded the previous BIOS version, create a bootable USB drive or CD/DVD with the BIOS file using a tool like Rufus or HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool.
- Restart your notebook with the bootable USB drive or CD/DVD inserted.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to initiate the BIOS update process using the previous version you downloaded. This process may vary depending on your specific model and BIOS version.
- Once the previous BIOS version is installed, restart your notebook.
By following these steps, you should be able to rollback the BIOS update on your HP ENVY Notebook and restore the previous display resolution. However, please note that BIOS updates are intended to improve system performance and stability, so it's generally recommended to keep your BIOS up to date.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Thank you for your reply,
let me start with the bios, HP have removed any option to advanced or system menu's so this option cannot be done
when using the rollback bios option that is in the PC Diag, I get a "cannot read the script file" error even though all files are located in the directory
I would have expected a HP employee to know that HP has removed such options from the bios and also password protected and not allowed to make any changes via other means
I have tried via the efi and get told that the efi files are not bootable,
All of your suggestions are of no use.
