hp envy x360

I have an HP envy x360, and the brightness adjusts up and down constantly, seemingly depending on the brightness of the page/background. This happens regardless of whether or not i have power saving mode enabled, and both plugged and unplugged. Even manually setting the brightness on the slider to 100 does not do anything if on a dark page.

I work in photoshop a lot, so it's pretty impossible to work with colors when my brightness goes haywire all the time.

Someone said it's probably a power saving feature in my Intel settings, but I still haven't figured out how to disable it.

Please help a desperate student. Thanks!

Hi:

The only suggestion I can offer, would be to see if disabling the adaptive brightness setting resolves the problem, if you have not done so already...

Thanks for the response, but following this guide doesn't give me the same options.

Going 'power options' > 'edit plan setting' > 'change advanced power settings'  > 'display' > 'turn off display after'.
No option for adaptive brightness where it should be, as in the guide.

Also, i'm too much of a noob to know if it's at all relevant, but using AMD ryzen 5.
