Hi @CHLOE196

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thank you for providing the product details. We understand that the built-in camera on your HP 14-inch Laptop PC 14-ep2000 is not being detected in Windows, HP Hardware Diagnostics, or Device Manager, and Windows Camera is showing error 0xA00F4244.

Since the camera is not appearing in Device Manager and is not detected by HP diagnostics, let's first verify whether the camera is being recognized at the BIOS level:

  1. Shut down the notebook completely.
  2. Turn it on and immediately tap the Esc key repeatedly.
  3. Press F10 to enter BIOS Setup.
  4. Look for a section such as Built-in Device Options, System Configuration, or any setting related to the Integrated Camera.
  5. Confirm that the camera is enabled if the option is available.
  6. Save any changes and restart Windows.

If no camera setting is available in BIOS or the camera still does not appear in Device Manager after confirming BIOS settings:

  1. Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
  2. Click View > Show hidden devices.
  3. Check under Cameras, Imaging Devices, and Universal Serial Bus controllers for any unknown or disabled device.
  4. If an unknown device is present, share a screenshot of Device Manager.

Additionally, please let us know:

  • Has the camera worked previously on this notebook?
  • Did the issue start after a Windows update, BIOS update, or any hardware repair?
  • Is the camera missing from BIOS hardware information as well?
  • Could you share a screenshot of Device Manager with Show hidden devices enabled?

Once we have these details, we can guide you with the next specific checks.

Take care, and have an amazing day!

Regards,
