HP Pavilion x360 14 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 14-ek0000 (54B26AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

My camera suddenly stopped working and I am getting camera error code 0xa00f4244. I tried troubleshooting from the setting, reset the camera, reinstalled the camera but nothing worked. Then I realized that my camera driver was completely missing from device manager, nothing related to camera is present at all. I have looked up at manufactures website with product number of my laptop and still could'nt see any drivers for camera.

@Pavilion-ek0xxx, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

It sounds like you're dealing with a frustrating issue, especially since the camera driver isn't showing up at all in Device Manager. Let's go through a few steps that could help you resolve this problem.

Use Windows Update to Search for Camera Drivers

Since you’ve already looked at the manufacturer’s site, try Windows Update to see if it can automatically find and install the camera drivers.

Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.

Click Check for updates. Sometimes Windows will automatically detect and install missing hardware drivers.

Check for Hidden Devices in Device Manager

Sometimes, missing drivers show up as “hidden” in Device Manager.

Press Windows key + X and select Device Manager.

From the menu, select View > Show hidden devices.

Look under Imaging Devices for any ghost entries related to the camera. If you see one, try to uninstall it and then restart your PC. Windows may reinstall the camera drivers.

Manually Install the Camera Driver

If the camera driver is still missing, you can try to manually install it:

Go to Device Manager.

Right-click on any device listed under Other Devices or Unknown Devices (if there is one).

Select Update Driver > Browse my computer for driver software.

Select Let me pick from a list of available drivers and see if the Imaging Devices category shows any available options for the camera.

Alternatively, you can search for a compatible driver from HP Support by entering your specific model number (HP Pavilion x360 14), or even searching for a general Windows 11 compatible camera driver.

Also, refer to this guide for further troubleshooting: HP PCs - Troubleshoot the webcam (Windows 11 and Windows 10) | HP® Support

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.

None of the steps worked.

1. No update was found from Windows Update.

2. Selected to show hidden devices, however nothing turned up. Also there was no Imaging devices or camera option anywhere in the Device Manager List. There were no unknown devices or other devices.

3. I cant see any particular camera driver for HP Pavilion x360 14. Other drivers show up but camera driver does not.
