Hi @Terrax1,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your camera is not working on your Victus by HP 15.6-inch Gaming Laptop (15-fb0000) running Windows 11, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:
1. Check Camera Privacy Settings:
- Settings > Privacy & security > Camera: Ensure that apps are allowed to access the camera. Check if the camera access is turned on for the specific app you're trying to use.
2. Check Device Manager:
- Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
- Expand the Cameras section and see if the camera is listed.
- If there's a yellow triangle or other indicator, it may mean there's a problem with the driver.
- Right-click the camera and select Update driver. Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
3. Test in Another App:
- Open the Camera app from the Start menu to see if the camera works there. This can help determine if the issue is app-specific.
4. Check for Windows Updates:
- Go to Settings > Windows Update and check for updates. Sometimes, updates can fix hardware issues like this.
5. Run the Camera Troubleshooter:
- Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters > Camera: Run the troubleshooter and follow the on-screen instructions.
6. Reset the Camera App:
- Settings > Apps > Installed apps > Camera: Select Advanced options, then choose Reset.
7. Reinstall Camera Driver:
- In Device Manager, right-click the camera and select Uninstall device. Restart your laptop, and Windows should automatically reinstall the driver.
8. Check BIOS Settings:
- Restart your laptop and enter the BIOS/UEFI settings (usually by pressing Esc or F10 during startup).
- Look for any camera-related settings and ensure the camera is enabled.
9. Check for HP Support Assistant Updates:
- Open the HP Support Assistant app and check for updates specifically for your camera or other hardware.
