Hi @MAHITHA2,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I Understand your concern about the camera issue , don’t worry let me help you with this.

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

  • Does the camera not turn on at all, or is it showing a black screen?
  • Are you seeing any error messages when you try to use it?
  • Which application are you trying to use the camera with (Zoom, Teams, etc.)?

In the meantime, here are a few quick troubleshooting steps you can try:

  1. Check the camera privacy switch or key – Some HP laptops have a physical shutter or function key (like F8) to enable/disable the camera.
  2. Verify camera permissions – Go to Settings > Privacy > Camera and make sure apps are allowed to access it.
  3. Update drivers – Open Device Manager, expand Cameras, right-click your camera, and select Update driver.
  4. Restart your laptop – A simple restart can sometimes fix hardware recognition issues.
  5. Test with the Camera app – Open the built-in Camera app in Windows to see if it works outside of third-party applications.

I hope this helps.

I'm an HP Employee.
