Hi @Adityayaswanth

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

The error code 0xA00F4244 indicates that your laptop's camera is not being detected, which could be due to several reasons such as driver issues, hardware problems, or privacy settings.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you resolve this error:

Step 1: Check Camera Connection and Permissions

Ensure Camera is Enabled:

  • Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera.
  • Ensure apps are allowed to access the camera.

Check Device Manager:

  • Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
  • Expand the Cameras section and check if the camera appears.
  • If you see a yellow exclamation mark, right-click the camera and select Update Driver.

Test with Verified Working Configuration:

  • Use an external verified working camera to test if the issue is with the laptop's built-in camera.

Step 2: Update or Roll Back Drivers

Update Drivers:

  • In Device Manager, right-click the camera and select Update Driver.
  • Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.

Roll Back Drivers:

  • If the camera stopped working after an update, try rolling back the driver by selecting Properties > Driver tab, then click on Roll Back Driver.

Step 3: Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

  1. Use HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI):
    • Restart your laptop and press Esc followed by F2 to enter the diagnostics tool.
    • Run system and component tests specifically for the camera hardware.

Step 4: Perform a Hard Reset

  1. Disconnect External Devices:
    • Turn off the laptop, disconnect all peripherals.
  2. Hard Reset:
    • Remove the battery and AC adapter, press the power button for 15 seconds.
    • Reconnect the battery and AC adapter.

Step 5: Check Windows Security Settings

  1. Review Security Settings:
    • Sometimes security settings can prevent device usage. Ensure Windows Privacy settings are configured to allow camera access.
