pavilion 15
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I recently updated my graphics driver through the AMD updater.  Since then the computer has microstutters, IE mouse, keyboard, touchpad etc.  also video is jerky as well.  This issue is systemwide and occurs every 2 seconds approximately.

Laptop is HP Pavillion 15, Product id E9G68UA and graphics chipset is AMD Radeon HD8330.  Is there a way to correct this issue or will I be stuck with and outdated driver?

@mikew1965,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

Thank you for posting your query on this forum, it's a great place to find answers.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

I recommend you uninstall the graphics driver from device manager and then download and install the driver from the below link.

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp78501-79000/sp78743.exe

Here is how it is done.

Uninstall:

  1. Start Control Panel, click Hardware and Sound, and then click Device Manager.
  2. Expand the node that represents the type of device that you want to uninstall, right-click the device entry, and click Uninstall.
  3. On the Confirm Device Removal dialog box, click OK to start the uninstall process.
  4. When the uninstall process is complete, remove the device.

NOTE: On the Confirm Device Removal dialog box, click the Delete the driver software for this device option to delete the driver package that was used for the device.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

Thanks for the reply, sorry it took so long to get back to you.  It is a partial solution.  The microstutters are gone, but the driver you gave me is still very outdated for the AMD 8330.  AMD website has several newer drivers, but of course, that is what caused the microstutters in the first place.  On another note, do you have a download to get an AMD control panel for this driver?

@mikew1965,

It is great to have you back and your patience is greatly appreciated.

I checked and see that the driver what I have provided is the latest driver available from HP.

You can install the drivers available on the AMD website however, those drivers are not tested on your computer.

Hope that answers your question.

Good day! Take care 🙂

Cheers!
