Hi @Anshu_Sharan,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

I understand that you are having issues with the screen flickering.

Display flickering on your HP Pavilion x360 laptop can be caused by a variety of factors, including driver issues, hardware problems, or settings misconfigurations. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the flickering issue:

1. Update Display Drivers

Outdated or corrupt display drivers can cause flickering issues.

  1. Open Device Manager (Windows + X > Device Manager).
  2. Expand Display adapters.
  3. Right-click on your display adapter and select Update driver.
  4. Choose Search automatically for drivers. Windows will search for and install the latest driver if available.
  5. Restart your laptop after the update.

2. Check for Windows Updates

Ensure that your operating system is up to date, as updates can include important fixes for display issues.

  1. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
  2. Check for updates and install any available updates.

3. Adjust Refresh Rate

Incorrect or incompatible refresh rates can cause flickering.

  1. Right-click on the desktop and select Display settings.
  2. Scroll down and click on Advanced display settings.
  3. Click on Display adapter properties.
  4. Go to the Monitor tab.
  5. Under Screen refresh rate, select a different rate from the dropdown menu and apply the changes. Typically, 60Hz is standard for most laptops.

4. Disable Hardware Acceleration

Sometimes hardware acceleration in applications like browsers or other software can cause flickering.

  1. If you're experiencing flickering in a specific application (e.g., a web browser), go to the application’s settings.
  2. Look for an option related to hardware acceleration and disable it.

5. Check for Background Applications

Background applications or processes may be affecting your display.

  1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
  2. Check if any applications or processes are using a high amount of CPU or GPU.
  3. End any tasks that seem to be using excessive resources and see if the flickering improves.

Please find the remaining steps in the next post.

Hi @Anshu_Sharan,

Please find the remaining steps below.

6. Test in Safe Mode

Booting into Safe Mode can help determine if the issue is caused by third-party software or drivers.

  1. Press Windows + R, type msconfig, and press Enter.
  2. Go to the Boot tab and check Safe boot.
  3. Restart your laptop.
  4. Check if the flickering persists in Safe Mode. If it does not, it may be caused by a software or driver conflict.

7. Check Display Cable and Connections

If you're comfortable opening your laptop, you can check the internal connections:

  1. Power off your laptop and disconnect it from power.
  2. Carefully open the laptop and check the connections between the display and motherboard. Make sure they are secure.
  3. Reassemble the laptop and check if the flickering issue persists.

8. Perform a Hard Reset

Sometimes, a hard reset can help resolve hardware-related issues.

  1. Power off your laptop.
  2. Disconnect all external devices and unplug the power adapter.
  3. Press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds.
  4. Reconnect the power adapter and turn on the laptop.

9. Check for BIOS Update

Updating the BIOS may resolve certain hardware-related issues.

  1. Visit the HP Support page for your Pavilion x360 model.
  2. Download and install the latest BIOS update if available.

10. Consider Display or Hardware Issues

If none of the above solutions work, there might be a hardware issue with the display or graphics card:

  • Run HP Hardware Diagnostics to check for hardware problems:
    1. Restart your laptop and press F2 during boot to access HP Diagnostics.
    2. Run the Display Test to check for any hardware issues.

If the flickering persists after trying all these steps, it might be necessary to contact phone support for service options.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
