From my limited knowledge regarding HP Pavilion 15-eg0xxx laptops, and looking here: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06913637.pdf, I am inclined to say that your laptop does not support MST (=Multi-Stream Transport technology for multiple monitors).
Mind you, I would love to be proven wrong! -Perchance another Community Expert can show me the light. Let's just wait, I suppose.
In the meanwhile, if you don't mind trying out a USB-C laptop docking station, say with dual 4K HDMI display capabilities, such as this purchase option via Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Docking-Station-Adapter-Display-Thunderbolt/dp/B0BVVS4CMK/ref=sr_1_3?crid=RTM..., it may offer you something resembling MST.
