I was just using my laptop and this black mark appeared out of nowhere and now it's spreading I don't know what to do.

Unfortunately, it would appear that the LCD has been damaged by external force. If you have an existing warranty with accidental damage protection you could file a service claim with HP (or the 3rd-party warranty provider) otherwise you'll need to have the notebook service at cost to you (or replace it entirely).
If you don't use your notebook outside of your home/work very often you could connect an external monitor and use that as the primary viewing monitor.
Be alert for scammers posting fake support phone numbers and/or email addresses on the community.
