Hi @mojitoH

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand the touchscreen on your HP Envy x360 16‑ac0xxx is not responding even after reinstalling the drivers. Thank you for sharing the steps you have already tried. Let’s proceed with recommended actions to narrow down the cause:

Confirm Device Status in Device Manager

  • Open Device Manager and expand Human Interface Devices.
  • Ensure HID‑compliant touch screen is listed and enabled. If disabled, right‑click and select Enable device.

Run Diagnose & Fix in HP App

  • Open the HP App from Windows.
  • Select Diagnose & Fix and allow it to run a full check.
  • Apply any fixes it suggests for input devices.

Update BIOS and Chipset Drivers

Calibrate the Touchscreen

  • In Windows search, type Calibrate the screen for pen or touch input.
  • Open the tool and follow the calibration steps to reset touchscreen responsiveness.

Reset the HP App

  • Go to Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
  • Select HP App > Advanced options > Reset.
  • Relaunch the app and re‑run Diagnose & Fix.

After completing these steps, test the touchscreen again. If the issue persists, please let me know the exact behavior (for example, whether the screen is completely unresponsive or only partially responsive). This will help us provide further guidance.

Take care, and have an amazing day!

J'ai ouvert  le Gestionnaire de périphériques et développez la section « Périphériques d'interface utilisateur ». mais l'écran tactile compatible HID n' est pas listé, et cela même en faisant afficher les  périphériques cachés.

opened Device Manager and expanded the 'Human Interface Devices' section, but the HID-compliant touch screen is not listed, even after showing hidden devices.

Thanks for replying.

I understand the touchscreen is not appearing in Device Manager, even under hidden devices. Thank you for confirming this detail—it helps us narrow down the situation. Let’s proceed with recommended steps to address the missing HID‑compliant touchscreen entry:

Run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI)

  • Shut down the laptop.
  • Power it on and immediately press the Esc key repeatedly until the Startup Menu opens.
  • Press F2 to open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
  • Select Component Tests > Touchscreen Test.
  • Run the test to check hardware functionality.

Update BIOS and Chipset Drivers

Perform a Hard Reset

  • Power off the laptop.
  • Disconnect the power adapter and any external devices.
  • Press and hold the Power button for about 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the adapter and power on the laptop.

Check Windows Updates

  • Go to Settings > Windows Update.
  • Install all available updates, especially optional driver updates.

Reset the HP App and Run Diagnose & Fix Again

  • Go to Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
  • Select HP App > Advanced options > Reset.
  • Relaunch the HP App and run Diagnose & Fix.

If the HID‑compliant touchscreen still does not appear after these steps, it indicates that the touchscreen hardware may not be detected by the system. Please let me know the outcome of the diagnostics test, as that result will guide the next HP‑aligned action.

I executed the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI). When navigating to Component Tests, the Touchscreen Test option is missing from the list of available components.

I updated the BIOS and the chipset drivers, but I'm not sure if the chipset driver update was successful.

I've also done a hard reset, and the touch screen is still not working.

Thank you. Please let me know if you have any other solutions to fix this problem.

Hi @mojitoH,

Thank you for getting back.

Sometimes the touchscreen can be disabled at the firmware level.

Restart > Press Esc > F10 (BIOS Setup)

Look under Advanced > Built-in Device Options

Ensure Touchscreen is enabled if listed

Save changes and restart

Let me know how it goes.
