Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

notebook 14ck Windows 10 64bit.  Everytime Microsoft pushes an update my touchpad goes nuts and the tap sensitivity goes sky high and so while typing hit the touch pad and mouse jumps all over the screen.  The ELAN touchpad adjustments do not control touchpad sensitivity.  I don't want to turn it off I just want to stop the insertion point from jumping around the screen so I type in the wrong location.

@den22

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I did some research on this case found that by tapping the upper right corner of the touchpad twice should disable the touchpad. Below image is an example:

However, if you would like to disable the touchpad or adjust the mouse settings from the Windows then please follow the below steps:

  1. In the Windows search box, type TouchPad.
  2. From the results list click TouchPad settings.
  3. Click Additional settings.

To disable or adjust the mouse sensitivity of the Touchpad when using a USB mouse.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
