HP 15.6 inch Laptop PC 15-d4000 (4C803AV)

Hi

Our laptop keyboard has started to stop working just after warranty has expired. A few of the number keys on both the top and the number pad have stopped working.

Updated drivers. reinstalled windows nothing.

Also, Does the USB C on this laptop provide display? We are trying to get it to work with a docking station and we are unable to get display out.

Last HP we will purchase as it really struggled with Windows 11 when purchased.

Sorry for your issues with this laptop, but personally, I would not waste money buying a Win11 laptop -- as MS seems to ignore issues with the OS and is busy pushing AI and Co-Pilot on everyone.

Not being critical but if you reinstalled Windows from an image you created from a Microsoft download, you have only made matters worse. Why? Because the MS image does not have the custom drivers needed for HP laptops; only the HP OEM image has that.  Some hardware is just not going to work right with the generic drivers.

Laptop keyboards are made to be light, not rugged, but admittedly, only one year is a major disappointment -- as I have generally got 5 years out of a keyboard -- and replacing them is not a $25 part and the removal of 4 screws anymore -- as it was a long time ago.  Now they have to be PRIED open and replacing a keyboard can cost a fortune.

If you still want to keep using it, and are willing to live with an external keyboard, consider a wireless one.

Also, if you want an HP OEM Windows version, let me know and I will link you to the info on the HP Cloud Recovery app.
