Hi @Ishaan101010101,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're experiencing horizontal flickering lines on the bottom half of your laptop screen during or after gaming. I also understand that the screen still functions, but the flickering is intermittent and sometimes corrects itself briefly.
We’re here to help you identify the cause and resolve the issue
Step 1: Run HP UEFI Display Diagnostics (Built-in Tool)
Please perform a pre-boot display test using HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
How to run the test:
- Power off the computer.
- Press the power button, and immediately press the Esc key repeatedly (once every second) until the Startup Menu appears.
- Press F2 to enter HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
- Use the arrow keys to select:
- Component Tests > Display > Display Test
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
If flickering or lines appear during this test, it confirms a hardware issue.
Step 2: Update Your HP Drivers and BIOS
The issue may be related to outdated graphics drivers or BIOS firmware. Please install the latest official drivers from the HP support website.
- Enter your exact product number or serial number
- Download and install:
- Graphics Driver
- BIOS Update
- HP System Event Utility
- HP UEFI Diagnostics (if not already installed)
I hope this helps.
Take care, and have an amazing day!
