Hi @CHROMEBOOKINDY,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I’m sorry you’re going through this; I understand the concern and don’t worry I’ll help you with this.

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

Does the screen stay stuck in one orientation

Or does it rotate incorrectly

Or does nothing change at all

A few quick things you can try right now:

1.Check if Auto‑rotate is turned on

Sometimes rotation gets locked without warning.

  • Flip the Chromebook into tablet mode
  • Open the quick settings (bottom‑right corner)
  • Look for the Auto‑rotate icon and make sure it’s enabled

 2.Restart the Chromebook

A simple reboot often clears temporary sensor glitches.

 3.Test the hinge and sensors

Try rotating the device slowly into different positions.

  • If the keyboard stays active when flipped
  • Or the screen never changes orientation
…it could indicate the hinge sensor isn’t being detected.

 4.Reset system settings (non‑destructive)

  • Go to Settings → Reset settings
  • Choose Restore settings to their original defaults

I hope this helps.
