g7-1269nr
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hello. got a g7-1269nr from a pawn shop that wouldn't charge. replaced motherboard, upgraded CPU, added ram, etc. Noticed AMD graphics having problems and tried HP'S , and AMD drivers with no sucess. Figured might have corrupt hard drive so changed and re-installed Win 7 64 bit. before I changed hard drive, notebook acted like it downloaded HP drivers with no errors in log but would dump, forcing me to disable the AMD. Now that I have changed the hard drive etc., now when I try to install HP's graphics, I get an error of fail right off the bat. log says it has something to do with c++2010 and mentions version 10.0.30319, which I believe to be a security update but don't know. Believe maybe motherboard had been changed prior to my purchase however, board is c ompatatable with my notebook. considered board might be bad also but, now get error instead of the apparent good download. Believe this thing will work if I can solve the C+ error problem.

Hi

First off Piriform will tell you a lot about the graphics card. Then look to match that.

Since the graphics may use shared memory give members a run.

Hi

ESC + F1 I believe...

SSID WiFi Born On.png  Mine's 8130.

Then WinKey + R and msinfo32

System SKU    N7K06EA#ABU
Processor    AMD A6-6310 APU with AMD Radeon R4 Graphics, 1800 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s)
BIOS Version/Date    American Megatrends Inc. F.17, 12/04/2017
SMBIOS Version    2.8

So some AMD Drivers require the INTEL one to be installed first, may not be in your case, just mentioning it.

The c++ issue may be resolved by one of these...

Think I got the C++ issue figured out. What this thing is doing is; download driver from HP, when installing, no flashing of screen, log says successful but, upon restart, system dumps. I have to disable AMD to use notebook, the weird thing is that when uninstalling, the screen flickers.

Hi

Maybe download and run Piriform Speccy?

This package provides the AMD High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver and Catalyst Control Center for supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system. For notebooks with switchable graphics modes, this package includes drivers for both graphics processing units (GPUs). Switchable graphics enable users to switch between a power-saving graphics mode (normally used under battery power) and a high-performance graphics mode. If high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) video output is supported, this package also installs the HDMI Audio Driver.

AND

HP computers, depending on the model, have two different configurations of switchable graphics. For more specific information related to the configuration of dynamic and fixed mode, OpenGL and DirectX, see one of the following documents:

Great info, Thanks. Not quite sure I follow. I had HP do scan and suggest the driver 8.882.2.0 but, after installation, the unit crashes and I have to disable it using safe mode then uninstall driver. I don't get as far as being able to access CCC. Wish I could. Any other thoughts or am I missing something? There was one thing you sent that I couldn't look at.
