Victus by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-s0000 (76T55AV)

Dear HP Support Team,

I am contacting you regarding my HP Victus 16 laptop, which has recently developed what appears to be a Hall sensor-related hardware issue.

Although my warranty expired in May 2026, the problem started only a short time after the warranty ended. I have learned that many HP Victus 16 users worldwide have experienced very similar symptoms, suggesting that this may be a known hardware or design-related issue rather than damage caused by normal use.

The symptoms include:

The laptop occasionally does not power on when the power button is pressed.

The charging indicator works, but the system remains completely unresponsive.

Sometimes the laptop starts only after holding the power button for an extended period.

In some cases, disconnecting the battery temporarily allows the system to start again.

The issue occurs intermittently and has become increasingly concerning.

To eliminate software-related causes, I updated the BIOS to the latest available version (F.32) and performed all recommended troubleshooting steps. Unfortunately, the problem still persists.

The laptop has never been dropped, exposed to liquid, or physically damaged. It has always been used carefully and maintained properly.

Considering that the warranty expired only recently and that this appears to be a commonly reported issue affecting HP Victus 16 devices, I kindly request that HP review my case under a goodwill repair policy. I would greatly appreciate a complimentary inspection and, if confirmed to be a hardware defect, a free repair or replacement of the affected component.

I have been satisfied with HP products and hope that HP will continue to demonstrate its commitment to customer satisfaction by supporting customers facing issues such as this.

I am ready to provide the serial number, proof of purchase, photographs, videos, or any additional information required to assist with the evaluation of my request.

Thank you very much for your time and consideration. I look forward to your positive response.

Kind regards,

Kürşad Şensoy

Hi @kursadsensoy,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for taking the time to provide such a detailed description of the issue. I understand your concern, especially since the problem began shortly after the warranty expired.

It's good to know that you've already updated the notebook to the latest available BIOS (F.32) and performed the recommended troubleshooting. Based on the symptoms you've described, further hardware evaluation would be appropriate.

Before considering service, I recommend trying an HP BIOS Recovery, as this can help if the BIOS has become corrupted.

To perform an HP BIOS Recovery:

  1. Turn the notebook off.
  2. Connect the AC adapter.
  3. Press and hold the Windows + B keys.
  4. While holding these keys, press and hold the Power button for 2–3 seconds, then release the Power button while continuing to hold Windows + B for another 5–10 seconds.
  5. If the HP BIOS Update or HP BIOS Recovery screen appears, follow the on-screen instructions to complete the recovery.

If the BIOS Recovery does not start or the issue continues after completing it, the next recommended step is to have the notebook evaluated by an HP Authorized Service Center in your region. Their technicians can perform a detailed hardware diagnosis to determine the cause of the intermittent power-on behavior.

Although the product is out of warranty, you may also discuss your request for a goodwill review with the regional HP support team. Goodwill assistance, when applicable, is reviewed on a case-by-case basis and depends on several factors, including the product, service history, and regional support policies. While we cannot guarantee approval, the regional support team is best placed to review your request.

I'm an HP Employee.
