@PAULRYAN52

Welcome to HP forums, I see that your notebook goes black when you connect TV using HDMI cable.

Don't worry as I have a few suggestions which should help you resolve this issue.

For me to assist you with accurate information I would require more information regarding this.

· Did you connect it to an external TV to check if it works?

· Did you try multiple HDMI cables?

For now please try these steps:

· Right-Click on start button> click device manager> expand display adapters>then select the display drivers that are listed and right-click on it and uninstall the drivers.

· Check the box that states delete the software for this device.

· Then restart the computer and update the bios chipset and graphic drivers from this link: https://support.hp.com/drivers

If it still does not fix the issue, please perform the relevant steps for HDMI related issues from this link:  HP PCs - Troubleshooting HDMI Display and Sound Issues (Windows 10, 8, 7)  regarding video issues. If there is no hardware issue with the computer, this should do the trick for you.

Let me know how it goes.

Hi @PAULRYAN52, I am the Mr.Robot. It looks like you were interacting with @sandytechy20, but he is out of the office today, so I'll take over from here.

I appriciate your efforts for writing back to us.

Have you tried checking with a different HDMI cable?

Have you tried updating the graphics driver and BIOS on your PC?

Try updating the drivers on your PC using HP support assistant and check if it helps.

If the issue still persists after trying out the steps try performing a system reset on your PC.
