Touch screen stop working on hp envy x360 convertable pc 15-ed1003caScreenshot 2026-02-19 051935.png

HID-complaint touch screen was grey on Device Manager.

I Uninstalled I2CH Device and HID-complaint touch screen on Device Manager.

the HID-complaint touch screen which was grey under Hidden Drivers disapeared.

Clicked Action and  Scan for hardware changes and I2C HID ! appeared again but not HID-complaint touch screen drive.

Tried to reinstall HID-complaint touch screen driver from HP website but version of windows 11 Home 25H2 which is in my laptop was not available.

Hi @Gill1542,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

Sorry for the inconvenience caused and don’t worry let me help you.

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

  • Did the touchscreen stop working after a Windows update or driver update?
  • When you check Device Manager, do you see any “Unknown device” entries or yellow exclamation marks besides the I2C HID device?

Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try in the meantime:

  1. Run Hardware Troubleshooter
    • Press Windows + I → go to System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters → run the troubleshooter for “Hardware and Devices.”
  2. Enable Hidden Devices
    • In Device Manager, click View > Show hidden devices. Sometimes the HID-compliant touchscreen reappears here. If it does, right‑click and enable it.
  3. Update BIOS and Chipset Drivers
    • Visit HP’s support page https://support.hp.com/ for your model and install the latest BIOS and chipset drivers. These often restore missing hardware entries.
  4. Check Windows Updates
    • Even if HP doesn’t list drivers for Windows 11 25H2 yet, Microsoft Update may push compatible drivers automatically.
  5. Reset the PC’s Power State
  • Shut down the laptop completely. Hold the power button for 15 seconds, then restart. This can sometimes reinitialize the touchscreen controller.

I hope this helps.
