Hi, i have a 17 inch HP laptop model ak-007na and i require some help in relation to replacement parts and part numbers.
I need to replace the hinges and the thin metal parts that run up the side of the display (not sure if all in one). the left one has sheared away at the bottom join and the right one is bent, so i have decided to replace both.
I am looking for the part number and advice on where to buy from
Thanks

I have put in to a repair shop to be bonded to the shell. It is not crazy money to fix, otherwise it wold not be economical to do so and i would have just scrapped it. In hindsight, i should have made sure my new laptop had a metal shell, as opposed to a plastic one, which turns out to be fragile, along with the hinge assemblies. I will know better next time i suppose. Not overly impressed as i have not had too long, but my previous one, a pavilion i had had for a few years, without even a sniff of a suggestion that the hinges were suspect, and liable to damage.

ok thanks, not a big deal, just disappointed that a laptop i had paid decent money for is not overly durable. it was not overworked, it was opened and closed once or twice a day, and i did not imagine for one minute that the hinges and assemblies would be so susceptible to damage
