HP Spectre x2 - 12-a008nr (ENERGY STAR)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My screen broke now it touches randomly without it being touched and I can't use my computer. I thought uninstalling its driver will help but it did not. It gets reinstalled when I open my computer again.

@Christian_James,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I recommend you follow the below steps to disable the touchscreen.

  1. Right-click on the Start Menu.
  2. Select Device Manager.
  3. Expand the section for Human Interface Devices.
  4. Right-click HID-compliant touch screen and choose Disable.

If you continue facing the issue, then follow the below steps.

1. Open regedit

2. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Wisp\Touch

3. Create a new DWORD (32 bit) with the name TouchGate

4. Doubleclik on the newly ceated DWORD and make sure it has the value 0

(0 = touch disabled, 1 = touch enabled)

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

If you wish to show appreciation for my efforts, mark my post as Accept as Solution. Your feedback counts!

Cheers!
