Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I am trying to fix mu daughters laptop that has a broken screen.  I have an external monitor hooked up, but it does not work because the BIOS has a password.  My daughter knows the password but can't get the monitor #2 to display anything.  Tried the fn-f4 method but did not work.  How can I get the external monitor to display on startup??  Thanks  Ken

Normally this is expected behavior based on the design of the system.

During system start-up, Intel is the only active vBIOS, and cannot drive the external DVI, HDMI or Display port displays.

But please try

(a)  Start up your laptop, and press and hold the "fn" key,

(b)  Press F# key which has a screen symbol (Normally # is 4 that means press F4)

Hope this helps.

Regards.
