The teachers at my school each received an hp EliteDisplay S14. For most teachers, when plugged in and turned on, the display is read as the second monitor and automatically extends. Monitor one is the laptop and monitor 3 is the Clear Touch boards.
Question 1: What should we do if a teacher plugs in her display and gets the error, "Input signal not found. Check the video cable and video source." I was able to connect a new display and new cord with no problem. I was also able to connect a new display using the teacher's old cord with no problem. I was unable to connect her device and a new cord. Also, her display and her cord leads to the error message.
Question 2: For teachers' whose computers do not automatically set to duplicate on 1 and 3, how can we manually adjust to these settings?

Welcome to HP Support Forum.
A1. This is depending the host and how we connect them
"Input signal not found. Check the video cable and video source" normally means not compatible ports. Your machine probably is not the same as other teacher(s).
A2. Please use the following guide
The specs of the monitor is
https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c06092879
It only has USB-C input port therefore host machines MUST support that type of connection because not all USB-C ports are not the same.
Regards.
