Fix Integrated Webcam Not Working on HP EliteBook Folio 9470m
1. Check Camera Privacy Settings
Go to Start > Settings > Privacy > Camera
Make sure Camera access for this device is turned On
Ensure apps are allowed to use the camera.
2. Update Webcam Driver
Press Windows + X → select Device Manager
Expand Imaging devices or Cameras
Double-click your webcam → open Driver tab
Click Update Driver → Search automatically for updates
3. Check Camera Permissions in Apps
Make sure the specific software (Zoom, Teams, Skype, etc.) has permission to access the camera
Open the app’s settings and verify the camera is selected as the default device.
4. Test the Webcam in Another Application
Try using the webcam with another app (Zoom, Skype, Camera app)
Helps identify if the issue is app-specific.
5. Restart Your Computer
A simple reboot often fixes device detection issues.
6. Reinstall the Webcam Driver
Open Device Manager
Right-click the webcam → Uninstall device
Restart the laptop
Windows will automatically reinstall the driver
7. Update BIOS
Outdated BIOS may cause device malfunction
Visit the HP Software & Drivers page for your model
Download and install the latest BIOS update
8. Run Windows Troubleshooter
Go to:
Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot
Run Hardware and Devices troubleshooter
Run Video Playback troubleshooter
