@Harsh204, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're experiencing FPS drops every 10 seconds on your HP Victus running Windows 11, especially after a recent BIOS update. Let's work through this together.
Perform a Power Reset
This helps clear residual power and can resolve performance glitches:
- Shut down your laptop.
- Unplug the power adapter.
- Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
- Reconnect the power adapter and turn the laptop back on.
Update Graphics Drivers
Ensure both your Intel/AMD integrated and NVIDIA/AMD discrete GPU drivers are up to date:
- Visit the HP Software and Driver Downloads page.
- Enter your product name (e.g., "HP Victus 16-e") and download the latest graphics drivers.
- Alternatively, use HP Support Assistant to automatically detect and install updates.
Check BIOS Settings
Sometimes BIOS updates reset performance settings:
- Reboot and enter BIOS (usually by pressing Esc or F10 during startup).
- Look for settings like Dynamic Tuning, Thermal Configuration, or Performance Mode and ensure they are set to Performance or Max Performance.
- Save and exit.
Disable Background Apps and Overlays
- Disable Xbox Game Bar, Discord overlays, and any unnecessary startup apps.
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager → Startup tab → Disable non-essential apps.
Adjust Power Settings
- Go to Control Panel > Power Options.
- Select High Performance or Ultimate Performance (if available).
- Also, in Windows Settings > System > Power & Battery, ensure performance mode is selected when plugged in.
Thermal Monitoring
Overheating can cause throttling:
- Use tools like HWMonitor or MSI Afterburner to check CPU/GPU temps.
- Clean vents and ensure proper airflow.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
