Hi @SMARTHERO
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If the Bluetooth isn't working on your HP EliteBook 8470p, there are several potential fixes you can try. Here's a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot the issue:
1. Check Bluetooth is Enabled in Windows:
- Press the Windows key and type "Bluetooth" in the search bar.
- Select Bluetooth and other devices settings.
- Make sure that Bluetooth is turned on.
If it's turned off, toggle it to "On" and try again.
2. Ensure Bluetooth is Enabled in BIOS:
Sometimes, the Bluetooth feature might be disabled in the BIOS settings. Here's how to check:
- Restart your computer and press ESC or F10 (depending on your model) to enter the BIOS setup.
- Look for a setting called "Internal Bluetooth" or "Wireless", and make sure it is enabled.
- Save and exit the BIOS, and then check if Bluetooth is working after booting into Windows.
3. Update Bluetooth Drivers:
Outdated or corrupt drivers can cause Bluetooth to stop functioning. Here’s how to update them:
- Press Windows key + X and select Device Manager.
- Scroll down to Bluetooth, right-click your Bluetooth adapter, and select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
- If a new driver is found, it will automatically be installed.
If Windows doesn’t find an updated driver, you can visit the HP Support website and search for the latest Bluetooth drivers for your HP EliteBook 8470p model.
4. Reinstall Bluetooth Driver:
If updating doesn’t work, try reinstalling the Bluetooth driver:
- Go to Device Manager > Bluetooth.
- Right-click the Bluetooth device and select Uninstall device.
- Restart your PC. Windows will automatically reinstall the driver when you reboot.
5. Run Bluetooth Troubleshooter:
Windows has a built-in troubleshooting tool for Bluetooth issues:
- Press the Windows key and type "Troubleshoot".
- Select Troubleshoot settings and scroll down to Bluetooth.
- Click Run the troubleshooter and follow the on-screen instructions.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
