I have tried all the steps in this community but laptop keyboard will not work. The caps lock light occasionally flashes.

To help us get started on resolving your issue, could you please share the model name of your device? Please be informed that there is a pattern for blinking lights. I would request you to please observe and share the pattern.

Reinstall the Keyboard Driver:

 

  • Go to Device Manager (press Win+X and select Device Manager).
  • Expand the "Keyboards" section.
  • Right-click on your keyboard driver and select "Uninstall driver."
  • Restarting your laptop to let Windows reinstall it automatically.

HP PC Hardware Diagnostics

  • Shutdown the system enter the UEFI  {Press the power button and keep tapping F2}
  • Click on keyboard 
  • Click on keyboard test
  • Click on next{ to change the layout language as per the cx's unit}
  • Request the cx to click on all the options mentioned
  • Click on finish
  • Click on Yes if the cx is able to press and its get highlighted
  • Click on No if it's not getting highlighted
  • Get the failure case ID and dispatch the case with the unit.
