Hello! My computer display back light seems to be broken. My computer runs and starts just fine, but I cannot see my screen unless I hold a flashlight up to it. Or I connect my computer to a separate monitor using a HDMI cord. How can I fix this issue? what parts do I need? I am a broke college student please help!

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. 

  • Have you updated Graphics and Chipset drivers?

Let’s try these steps to resolve the problem:

I recommend you attempt to access the BIOS screen by tapping on F10 while the computer is restarting, 

If the issue persists in the BIOS screen which is outside windows, it would confirm a hardware failure.
