My laptop's screen is blinking while watching videos in both OS (w11 and w10). I've tried to install all the drivers as far as I can ( since hp website does not have w10 drivers).

Hi @darksideofsivas,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your Victus by HP gaming laptop's screen is blinking while watching videos on both Windows 11 and Windows 10, and you've already attempted to install all available drivers, there are several troubleshooting steps you can take to address this issue.
-
Update Graphics Drivers:
- Visit the official website of the graphics card manufacturer (NVIDIA, AMD, or Intel) and download the latest drivers for your specific GPU model.
- Install the updated graphics drivers and restart your laptop.
-
Update Windows:
- Ensure that your operating system is up-to-date by installing the latest Windows updates.
- On Windows 10, go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update, and click on "Check for updates."
- On Windows 11, go to Settings > Windows Update, and click on "Check for updates."
-
Adjust Power Settings:
- Go to Control Panel > Power Options and select the "High performance" power plan.
- Adjust the advanced power settings to ensure that the graphics card is set to maximum performance.
-
BIOS/UEFI Update:
- Check the HP support website for your laptop model to see if there is a BIOS or UEFI update available. If so, follow the instructions to update your system firmware.
-
Disable Hardware Acceleration:
- In some video playback applications (such as web browsers), hardware acceleration can cause issues. Try disabling hardware acceleration in the settings of the application you're using.
-
Check for Malware:
- Run a thorough antivirus and anti-malware scan to ensure that your system is not infected.
-
Roll Back Graphics Drivers:
- If the issue started after updating the graphics drivers, consider rolling back to the previous version. Go to Device Manager, locate your graphics card, right-click, and choose "Properties." Under the "Driver" tab, click "Roll Back Driver" if available.
-
Check Video Cable Connection:
- If you are using an external monitor or connecting your laptop to a TV, make sure the video cables are securely connected.
-
Run System File Checker (SFC):
- Open Command Prompt as an administrator and run the command
sfc /scannow
to check for and repair corrupted system files.
- Open Command Prompt as an administrator and run the command
-
Perform a System Restore:
- If the issue recently started occurring, you can perform a system restore to revert your system to a previous state when the problem did not exist.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
